[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]

Name: Sharon Rainsworth

Age: Physically she is 13, but she is actually 23.

Gender: Female

Canon: Pandora Hearts

Timeline: She'll be taken right after the Isla Yura events! Pandora Hearts is currently at the climax of the series (I think) with a constant stream of big reveals and twists so it would be kind of silly to app her in the middle of that. I would rather canon update her if necessary AFTER all of it.

Background:

http://pandorahearts.wikia.com/wiki/Sharon_Rainsworth/History - extensive history

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandora_Hearts

Personality:

Sharon Rainsworth is first and foremost a lady. She definitely carries herself as someone with noble blood should. Her speech is polite, her dress is formal, and her mannerisms are gentle and full of grace. After all, she has to keep up such an appearance especially since she's a lady from one of the four great households in the series. Anyone with a high social status needs to act like it , but iff there's anyone who has to have a noble air, it's a Rainsworth! Appearances are important after all. However, for Sharon, it is important for more than just "that's what's expected of a Rainsworth".

Yes, Sharon is polite and kind, but that is also just the very surface. She knows quite well that how you appear to someone can be used as an advantage. For one, if she acts with dignity and class, people will actually take her more seriously. Stuck at the physical appearance of a thirteen year old, it is very necessary for her to act mature so people won't turn their noses away just because she's a "kid". A person with that kind of appearance will always gain favors with the other families because it shows that she knows that her worth on the same level as theirs. Most importantly, with a clean and pure appearance, she will present no apparent weakness! Considering what she's involved in and the secrets that she has to keep, it helps to have a surface personality that doesn't raise any kind of obvious suspicion to the others. These surface traits aren't "lies" but it must be remembered that it also doesn't show the entire truth!

Looking under that layer, you'll find that Sharon can be quite intimidating if she wants to be! And when I mean intimidating, I mean she can scare the living pants off of you if you decide to cross her temper. She is the kind of person who can radiate a bright smile while an aura of death is hovering over her shoulder at the same time. The characters fear her wrath and knows that she has the power to tear you apart in ways you can't imagine. And it isn't just her temper! As mentioned earlier, she carries herself well because she is a noblewoman. She is a well-respected person with a rich background and a thorough education. She is not afraid to present herself as so. That intimidation can only come from meeting someone who has pure confidence in who she is as a person.

If you dig even further that, you'll find an even scarier part of her personality. You see, she also has a bit of a . . . not-so-ladylike side. She is quite a . . . supporter of romance you might say-- Okay, no, she is pretty much a prime example of a shipper. If there's a hint of romance, love, or anything similar, her sparkling aura of happiness will show. On top of that, if you add a bit of alcohol to the mix, you'll get dominatrix Sharon. Seriously, she suddenly has all the skills of a proper mistress.

Once you get past all of that however, you'll find one of the most important parts of Sharon. Throughout the series, she struggles to gain strength to be on par with the others. At one point, she even tries to tag along to be of assistance and to prove her strength, but at some point, she had to come to terms with the fact that she does not have the power to do so. Her physical state for one is frail. Two, she has trouble accepting the more gruesome parts of what she's involved in (such as terrible deaths, injuries and the like), and three, she just does not have what it takes to do what she wants to do. She had to eventually accept that.

And that is why the true core of herself is her conviction. Having that, she can then dedicate herself to what she can do. One of the most important lines for her (in my opinion) is when she states out loud that she "may be powerless, but she is not weak." She doesn't have to wallow in misery or give up after hitting a brick wall or even waste time trying to attempt to overcome that obstacle over and over again. That conviction is her greatest strength and is also what makes her into such a strong character!

So those are the various layers of Sharon, from surface to her inner core, but despite that, there is still one thing that is missing that must be mentioned. Her conviction is indeed one of the most important parts but there is actually one more. That part, however, can be found on every level of her personality no matter which part you look at. Of course, that part is her relationship with Xerxes Break.

Whether it's from being a servant on the surface level, a useless fool on the lower levels, or the most important person who can see herself down to her very core, there is no denial that Break has managed to breech every part of Sharon and is essential to who she is now. There is a mutual respect between the two and always has been ever since the day Break arrived to the Rainsworth household when she was younger. She kept him in line while he kept her on her toes.

Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game?

Sharon is actually quite used to the idea of the meister/weapon partnership in several ways! For one, she is essentially the master of Xerxes Break despite being the physically weaker one of the two. Their weaknesses and strengths balances each other out and so she would understand how the partnership is suppose to work on an equal basis. Two, she is also in a contract with a chain which acts as her weapon which is pretty much self-explanatory.

As for herself, she's the type of person who will objective look at where she is at and do what is necessary to get herself back home. She isn't easily swayed by others who might try to convince her that Shibusen is doing bad things or whatever either. Of course this situation is bad! Duh! She's not going to pretend it isn't and that this isn't Shibusen's fault. However, she can easily put that behind her and do what is necessary to help them as well.

So she will more than likely help Shibusen with whatever she can, more so as support than as a normal fighter mind you, because she needs to get home and finish HER job there as well.

List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign:

Sharon is a legal contractor! This mean she is chained to Equus, a black unicorn that looks like it's made of shadow. This grants her several abilities in her canon:

  • · Teleport through different dimensions/places
  • · Can stalk others through their shadow
  • · Can help her communicate from long distances
  • · Can attack others
  • · Keeps her body from aging (which is why she is physically thirteen)

THOSE ARE ALL GONE NOW. She'll still look thirteen mind you but she can now grow.

Some other minor ones to note are her skills and mannerisms that are required for a noble (such as tableware, formalities, that sort of thing), her smarts, and her skills with a paper fan! She can smack you really hard with that. :') These are all ones that she'll keep!

List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:

Physically, she is a thirteen year old. This actually hinders her in canon quite a bit for a variety of reasons. No matter how much she trains physically, there is no way for her strength to go any further than what it is because her body has officially stopped growing. Because of that, she also can't help the others the same way as she would like to. Sure, she would like to be in the front lines and helping them to fight, but that is not what she was meant to do. On top of that, she has to continue keeping her age under wraps because it is strange for a twenty three year old to still look like she's thirteen.

This is both a loss and a gain. For one, she isn't going to have the issue of not being able to grow because that ability will be taken away as soon as she arrives to Death City. However, at the same time she will still appear as a child and will be even MORE apparent in Death City because no one will recognize her there and know of her past. This actually leads to the next weakness.

It is actually quite hard for her to show all aspects of who she is. Having to keep up appearances, it is actually quite hard for her to truly let people into her life. She truly cares for others and will let them know that! However, it will probably be very frustrating for the other party who might want to get closer to her to help her out, but will find themselves shut out rather fast. This is already a weakness that she has but it will be even more so with the necessity of finding a partner that suits her. She already found someone like that at HOME, but if he doesn't come to Death City, it will be actually quite a challenge to open up to a complete stranger.

Being taught as a noble, she has her limits in terms of class difference as well. Certainly, it will be harder for her to downgrade from upper class to a lower class setting as it isn't something she's used to!

And of course, being from a different timeline, what the hell is modern technology? She certainly won't know. :')

[ MEISTER ]

I want to bring attention to this page because to me, this is why she should be a meister. It's easy for a meister to feel as if he or she's the one in power because they are the ones controlling the weapon, but as we can see in that page, Sharon recognizes that that is not always the case. Just because you are wielding a weapon (in her case, her chain) does not necessarily give you power! It is the weapon that has power, not you.

What is probably the most important to me however is that she says those words with conviction. There is no shame or embarrassment in those words. Being powerless is always seen as a weakness, but recognizing that actually gives you the strength to find your power elsewhere. It means she can learn to rely on others or find another way to be strong, but whatever the case, she won't ever overestimate the powers that she has.

Soul Description:

Convicted, Noble, Intimidating, Polite, Kind, Dedicated.

Her soul itself is your average soul with a light pink hue! Not too vibrant, but instead a gentle, pretty color. It only has the small tufts of hair on the side and her ponytail, and it is always wearing a smile.

Meister Ability:

Soul Cloak - The ability to meld and travel through shadows for a short time.

This will be useful because she isn't meant to be a very physical character so it would be good to have an ability that could mold with her strength instead which is her smarts. She can use the placement of shadows as a tactic in battle with her weapon, and it is also similar to her canon ability as well!

[ SAMPLES ]

First-Person:

My, this is a strange device, isn't it?

[clearing her throat a bit]

Good day, everyone. I am Sharon Rainsworth, and I am pleased to make your acquaintance despite the terrible circumstances that has brought us here. While I do understand that Shibusen is taking full responsibility of the current situation that we are in, we were still forcefully brought to this place against our will. It is a rather large inconvenience for me and I'm certain for many of you as well. I cannot say that I'm very pleased with the situation so I must apologize for any unpleasantness that I might show until this is all over.

Still, I must say that I have been quite pleased at the effort that Shibusen has made with handing out information and provisions for those that were brought here. I'm glad to see that our hosts are at least hospitable and more importantly, responsible for their actions. So of course, until this is done, I will be helping Shibusen with whatever they deem necessary so that we may all be able to go home as soon as possible. I suppose that means finding a weapon so that is where I plan to start. Will someone please explain it in a bit more detail?

[pauses to give a very bright smile]

Ah yes! One more thing if you do not mind. I am sorry to take up so much of your time, but you see, it's very important. If you've met someone named Xerxes Break, please inform me right away. ♥

Third-Person:

Sharon suddenly found herself awake.

At first, she was stuck in a daze that she couldn't pull herself out of. Her eyes took the time adjusting to the darkness as she tried to remember just when exactly she had fallen asleep and more importantly, what she had been doing beforehand. It took her a moment to recall the names and places, but she couldn't quite place the moment of just how she ended up in this room. All of that was a blur. However, when her sight adjusted, she was finally able to look around the room and she quickly noticed faces that she did not recognize. They looked just as confused as she was which quickly snapped Sharon out of her daze. And for a very brief second, her guard went completely down.

Equus wasn't there.

Something was wrong. Inside, Sharon could already feel that this had nothing to do with Pandora or the Baskervilles or the Nightrays or anything that had happened so far. This situation was something that made absolutely no sense and she knew right away that this must have been something that was completely out of her control. She was trying very hard to figure out what she needed to do, but getting over the initial shock was enough of a challenge as it is.

But as soon as the bright screen came on and a face appeared, she found herself quickly regaining her composure through force of habit. Her face was still stuck in an expression of surprise, but her body language relaxed as if she was only mildly bothered. The more the strange man began to speak about the current situation, the more she could feel the lump in her throat tighten, but by this point, Sharon was holding herself up with complete confidence. She honestly had no idea where she was going to do from this point on, but there was at least one thing for certain that she did know.

Break was going to be late once again.
